I've narrowed my next skill choice down to foot print analysis, handwriting analysis, research or advanced hair analysis. Which do you all think I should take. Also, how useful is research? I've never really been too sure what it does exactly

i would pick research. it is very useful, since it basically eliminates one suspect with a fake/no alibi. and you can use it for every case.

A third voice for Research. I am sure you will find in a scan of similar threads that Research wins out every time whenever someone is comparing these.

It is one of the basic skills you will need to have to be able to do the tougher cases on your own.

I think after you get research you have to get the basic smart skills or you'll never solve any of the harder cases.

Definately research. Then, like said above, go back thru and get your basic smart skills. That way you can move up to the harder cases. Have fun.

Looks like there's a consensus - my vote's research :)

it will automatically be available to you for every case you do. but in order to use the option, you have to go to a place where you can do research - the Hall of Records. this is located in City Hall. so go there, then find the hall of records and you will have the option to "research your current case"
