So, that was pretty painless, wasn't it?

Feel free to post any questions or comments concerning the launch here. What you think about the pricing and the subscription fee. And what you think about the new look. Actually, the new look should be temporary, because my friend who designed the sleuth homepage is going to help me out with a new site-wide look soon.

Oh, and another question: Will only paying members be able to participate in the treasure hunts?

I do like the new look. It looks more professional now. Although it does lose a little of that 30s/40s nostalgic feel. I like the colors, but prefer the old font, though I'm not sure if the old font will work with the new colours. Anyway, since a new look is being worked on, I'm sure that will be great!

Since now only paying members can join agencies, I realise that you can't tell if another detective is a subscriber or not, so that is a potential problem for agencies looking for subscribers to recruit.

That's interesting Greyling. In my opinion, the color adds more definition to the pages, particularly the pictures. As I said, it's temporary anyway. My big concern is that some people are saying they are getting black text that is unreadable. I'm not sure if it's a browser incompatability error or some browser side cacheing issue that I don't have control over.

About the existing Agencies-

No, I won't be kicking out members of the existing agencies if they don't subscribe. Consider it a thank you for spending the extra time testing all the agency code.

I didn't want to spell that policy out before hand, because that might have led to people creating a bunch of accounts and sticking them in agencies, just to hold the space open.

I hope that some of the existing agency members do decide to describe, particularly because you are some of the most active players. There will, of course, be a competitive advantage for agencies with more subscribed players, since those players get more daily mysteries.

I think the new look has a more professional and sophisticated feel to it, while the old one was more pleasing to the eye (just the way the colours went together and things - easier to look at).

$8 for 3 months is cheaper than I thought it was going to be and I think it's a good really good decision for a price. It shouldn't put people off. I think I will suscribe (just came in first, 'cause I was curious about the changes...)

Hi Kay,

Sorry, your browser must not like the paypal "Buy Now" buttons for some reason. Possibly has to do with your security settings.

If you have a paypal account, you can send the appropriate amount to ben@hypotheticalsoftware.com and I will activate your subscription manually. Otherwise, you are welcome to email that address and we'll work out an alternate payment method.

I like the new look too now that I purged my cache. Also there should be a suggestions thread in this forum. I have the first suggestion. the person you do a favor for should not clam up during the investigation. He/She would want to help find the killer right.
