Is this where suggestions go?

Well if not, I'm posting it here anyway LOL

Being a sleuth addict myself, I've recommended this game to several other people (I've even got my dad on here!) and they like it. I was wondering if you ever considered setting up some sort of a rewards program on here, like if a new detective could provide the detective's name and/or email address that referred the game to them, and if they subscribed, maybe the referring detective could get something special? A unique item maybe? I think a free subscription would be a bit much, but maybe there is something available?

If anyone else has any more suggestions related to a rewards program or something along the lines of what I am talking about, post a reply. I'm interested in hearing others' thoughts too.

Since this thread is already on the topic of suggestions...

It would be nice to have the option of bribing a townie more than once. Yes, it's expensive, but once a PE or other townie clams, the case is on it's way to doomsville. I think it would be in keeping with the "real world" if all the townies accepted bribes more than once. It would be the Detective's judgement call about spending more money on it or not. If you wanted to make it tougher, each successive bribe with the same townie could get more expensive. Something like an extra $10 each bribe?

I've had to quit many a case where my townies have clammed and been bribed to the point that there's no use in continuing.

In an agency, I don't think there's been any case we've had to quit. With a good agency, all the contacts, all the skills between you and the like, I think nearly all cases are solvable. Except on the odd occasion where you have the client and one other person who dies before giving you a motive -or whatever. And as for favours, I think while they shouldn't be harder they shouldn't be easier.
I guess what I am saying is that it's too bad that townies clam up and being able to bribe them twice makes it too easy. If you need easier cases then you can always go down a level.

Oh, and for the Buddy List, I don't see why it can't just be private. There are details on your bio page only you can see and this could go for your Buddy List. Then the popularity thing wouldn't be an issue.

good idea, LED. yes, if you could have your own private buddy list just to see who is online or not, it would make it much easier. now i have to click on "see who's online" and scroll through all the names and see if anyone i know or need to talk to is around. it would be much easier if it appeared automatically on your detective page or something.

Hmmm. Sounds like a subscription issue......

I think the buddy list would be a great idea in the game, not just for Sleuthchat. Nobody would have to know who was on your list, so no fear of popularity issues. Much easier to keep track of your pals in the game when you want to message them.

And the reward thing could be a good idea, as long as the reward was only given out once the referee subscribed. Otherwise some people might just make accounts and refer themselves for the items. But yeah, as long as the rewards were only for subscriptions, great idea I think :)
