Elsey walks into the local bar, The Tricky Mister, and asks her old buddy Cyrus to pour her a drink.
"Something girly," she asks him. "Something the boys will laugh at."
She smiles and looks around the room. She thinks about who else might walk into the room tonight. She turns back to her girly drink and waits for Sir James to arrive, as he undoubtedly will at some point.
Just then, the front door opens and in walks....

Makensie, starts to tell her,then suddenly stops and says,in a slurring voice, "Heyyyy,my wonderful buddy, what do you MEAN drink me under the table? I can drink with the best of them, by golly" *slaps my hand on table in emphasis, as beer goes flying off the table* Makensie smiles, letting Ms C know she is playing, even tho she has never drank her under the table. An experienced drinker, that ol' Makensie is.

Makensie leans in to tell Ms C her story, as if it is really important ...Ms C drawls in closer to listen, and Makensie lowers her voice and says "I think I knocked Shady out, out there by the dumpster" Ms C says, laughing, "what?" Makensie says "I did! That fu...umm...that friggin idiot was rubbing it in how much money Ive paid him in the past so I just POP *punching the air* right in the ol kisser" Makensie continues, "So, I'm celebrating....Cyrus, give me another shot and my good buddy here one too" *cheers*

The mysterious, tall,dark man continues just standing there....watching everyone....

Ahem.. there seems to be a number of people here who have an outstanding tab. Hmmm with business being down with shady being on the town i may have to start collecting on these. Makensie I can see you, does that mean you will be at the front of the line ?. There are some old tabs here as well that need paid, Jstkdn, Skyler why do you alwayshave money for shady but never to pay your bar tabs? I am Cyrus keeper of theecrets of sleuthville and i bet the city news would pay good money for some of the stories i have to tell. Now would anyone like to reconsider paying their tabs?

Makensie, who is three sheets in the wind, stands up, as her buddy Ms C tries to set her back down. Makensie says "Well, I beg to differ on that tab *hiccup*, you see, I've paid my debts here, and I paid for my drinks that I had tonight, except for...*looking at Ms C*, "the one you OWE me just because I'm your *hiccup* friend" Ms C laughs and surprisingly says "You're right Mak" Makensie continues her long speech by saying...."...and you go ahead and show everyone how I was swinging on the poles while intoxicated, and dancing on the bar, and even when I took that ....*hicccccup* well.nevermind but anyways, you go ahead *smacking the table with hand,almost falling down*.....but I ain't paying nuttin, you hear me Cyrus,notta dimeeeeeeee" Makensie sits down, all wore out and says to Ms C "I swear him and Shady are brothers, always wanting money" Cyrus says, "I have a tab right here saying you owe money here" Makensie says "Hmmmmphhhhhhh"...and falls off chair.

What Mak did i not mention the security cameras i have around here? Oops that must have slipped my mind. But don't worry you will not be the only one slghtly embarased by my revelations :). Even sady shakes at the prospect of what I know. Hmmm maybe that is why he is always here, did you not know i get a cut of the action when you pay him off? It is not enough though so i may have to start blackmailing him as well, after all there is a replacement running around out here.

Elsey smiles at the ruckus going on in the bar as Cyrus tries to collect on tabs that may never get paid. She smiles in the knowledge that she always pays and tips well for her drinks. She's been a bartender, so she knows all about getting stiffed and going without tips.

*It's interesting being back in a place you've been away from for a while* Elsey thinks to herself. *I'm glad to know that Jojo has missed me, because I have missed Jojo. I do wonder what goes on when I'm not here, but sadly I lack the time these days. Oh to go back to carefree days.*

Elsey sighs, finishes her drink, and returns to the real world.

The tall dark handsome man (known around town as Texan), was standing in the shadows watching the excitement and noticed Makenksie kept looking his way. Feeling she was about to pass out, he quickly walks to her table and asks if he can be of any help by calling a taxi for her. Makensie trying to focus her eyes at the tall dark handsome stranger, that she had been watching, smiles as she replies, "sure, why not?". Texan says, "I think you've had about one too many, so just wait here and I'll go make that call for you madam. With that he disappears down the hall and into the night to meet up with his sweetie DaRu.

looking out over the scene of jojo fainted and Mak passed out while Texan goes out the door Cyrus wonders whether he chose the wrong business. Then he looks over at Elsey and remembers that not all of the clientel pass out or faint, and knows he is in the right business.

"Elsey", he says " you should know that your money is no good here, you are an old timer, kept the place in business in the early days and helped to keep the rif raf out of the place." Now we have two shady's running around and everyone is confused. After reading some of the posts in the lounge last week i had to down a bottle to see if they made more sense then. That can eat into the profits because I no longer drink rot gut, seen what it does to people, only the good stuff for Cyrus.
* Pours Elsey a drink from the private reserve, as they toast he pours one for jojo and Mak when they wake up as well*:)

As she approaches the bar for a glass of - *glances at her watch* - milk - to calm her nerves after yet another chilling case, she sees Elsey's silhouette disappearing among the rustling crowd of people on their way to work. A smile breaks across her face, but soon the tears of joy start to mix with tears of disappointment. Oh, if only she had been able to come sooner or had slept on a stool at the bar, she wouldn't have missed her.

"Elsey WAAAITT!!", she screams as she starts rushing after her, desperately trying to make her way through the crowded streets of New York.
