Um Becky, just a friendly little tip here, which I hope you won't to take the wrong way. I think there were a few hints dropped in this thread towards you, which for some reason you missed. Sleuth has a lot of diversity of people, age wise, and around the globe. Also people for whom English is their second language (like me), when someone tries to butcher and maim the beautiful English language, it makes it really hard to read for a foreigner. Aside from that there is no shame in writing and talking in normal English. I was popular in high school as well, and trust me it won't cost you any popular bonus points if you speak in a normal way. Considering the variety of people in sleuth, you'll likely gain popular bonus points in writing in normal English. If your friends do require you to speak as if you are texting message on a cell phone, I suggest you find new friends, and worry less about their boy friend stealing and back stabbing tactics. You are better off befriending someone with head or body lice (after all that can be cured), then hang out with people whom require you to sound perpetually stupid. Which I don't think you are. Because they themselves are too dumb to realize that smart people just get further ahead in life. Dumbness is not easily cured. Besides, the English language is something to cherish and be proud off. Use it to your advantage, instead of disadvantage. Just the advise of an "old" person.

We do care. We've not said we don't. We just prefer to be able to read what is being typed without having to translate it from phonics to standard English in order to understand it. It would be like trying to read a post written in ebonics or piglatin. That would be too much work. Many people read things like your posts as uneducated, perhaps that you don't care, so why should they? We understand if English is not your native language, but talking as if you are using IM's on a message board when you're asking people to post backstabbing issues, really does require correct typing.
