I have been saving up skill points for a bit now and am thinking about buying the Research skill, but was curious what it actually does for you. Could someone enlighten me and tell me how beneficial it might be? I am a smart and tough character with the following skills...

Footprint Analysis
Stress Detection
Interrogation
Intimidation
Advanced Thread Analysis
Advanced Hair Analysis

Thanks in advance.

Reserch skill-city hall-hall of records-reserch your curent case

it elimenates one suspect with a fake or none alibi and really helps in FM such as in the Doomsdayer Triligy

Personally, I think research is one of the most helpful skills in the game...Like Martlen2 mentioned, it enables you to eliminate one suspect without a valid alibi, which saves questions.

Third voice for Research.

No detective will get far without it.

The tougher your cases, the fewer questions you get answered. Research totally eliminates one suspect without the need to check alibis.

Plus if you do the FMs, a lot of times you need it. Research is a must-have....

I didn't think you needed Research for FMs do wrote to Ben, here is the answer:

Ben: For any FM where research is required to complete it (mostly the later ones), you can do the research without the skill.

For the other FMs, where research provides helpful clues, but there are other ways to complete the mystery, you do need the skill.

Wow, thank you all very much.

I think I am pretty much sold on picking that skill up.
