Unacceptable Sleuth Behaviour

I've been playing Sleuth for almost a year and the reason for that is a really great, tolerant, caring, generous community that strive to help people out.

I know agencies are always helping out other agencies and that agencies at time s have donated gear and money to a new agency to help them out.

I think that's why it really pisses me off when people take advantage of this situation.

I know it doesn't happen that often which is amazing itself.

However, I find when people join an agency and are given gear or money for a specific purpose then leave and start their own agency this is totally and utterly unacceptable.

I also think that people going around and begging for subscriptions is pretty unacceptable too. Especially when Sleuth is well-priced and secondly is not (*GASP*) an acutal need for our well-being.

I know that people including Blue and I have given out Gift Subscriptions before but ONLY because the people were great, friendly and nice and never asked for them!

Anyhow, I just needed to rant and get it off my chest. I'm sure there's other unacceptable behaviour too. And none of us are perfect.

All in all, Sleuth is such a great community with great people and Ben, Sunny and the Mods, and most of the community work hard at keeping that way.

I happen to be a new player, and I was really surprised by how welcoming the community is and feel really lucky that I was recruited by Hitchhikers:NY (Thanks Jane!)!

For new players stupidly thinking of ripping an agency off, I know for a fact that I've been helped along to the point where I'm playing and successfully solving Very, Very Hard Cases in only a week because of the advice, and in rare cases where my natural super-genius has been hampered by stoopid clamming witnesses, some excellent teamwork has helped me solve the cases rather then having to Quit them.

I felt good about putting an Exquisite Pipe in the locker and contributing to the agency that's allowing me to do fun things like participate in Hunts. It definitely offends me to hear that other players have been given the same priveleges and are selfishly ripping off the agencies.

Here's what I suggest for staff in future. If you find a player doing this, put them in a virtual room with ME for an hour. I assure you they will never be the same again!

I'm glad to hear you're doing well, A1Z. I'm sure your colleagues are pleased to have you on their team, and your loyalty to them is heartwarming. May you and Hitchhikers enjoy continued success and happiness.

I really explain well here Al Z what it is like for most newbies to join an agency. I think that's where the shocking part comes from as well. Considering how great the agencies are in welcoming newbies, and the community. It seems strange and a missed opportunity of a new person to pull stuff like that.

I was asked to join a great agency over a year ago.
I didn´t realize where I stuck my nose into ;) I couldn´t have imagined that I could have such good friends via internet... I guess the thing that we shared a common passion helped.
Of course here ( as in real life) there´s always people who want to punch you in the nose and kick you down. Usually those people are the loudest and stupidiest and they just want attention. Here it´s even easier than face to face. Like some one said, bad apples grow in every tree....I guess there´s not much to do but ignore them and spread the word.

I think some of those begging for subscriptions are just kids who just don´t understand, but I really don´t understand adults behaving that....

what do you think about this:
would you please give me some money im only 13 years old and my parents dont let me be a subscriber and ive heard rumors that your the best sleuth on this site so please send me some money i have zero dollars and i have no intterigation, sweet talk, flirt e.t.c so im really stuck so please give me some money about 1000-2000 would get me started.
I just had to laugh out loud.. On the other hand, it´s quite sad too... or pitiful maybe....
And I might add on the LED´s list of unacceptable Sleuth behaviour:
Sending strange, pervert PM´s. I´ve gotten a "few" of them. And without a warning those persons are on my block list.

Nobody should be sending perverted PM's.

That is definitely a form of harrassment. It's not fun to be on the receiving end of those, especially for the female players in the community.

If you are doing that, please stop. You are amusing absolutely no one. And if you are amusing yourself by doing it, then you are a genuine weirdo and need psychological counseling. Get some.

Let me give you some samples of what I received...

YOOOUUUU AAARRREEEEE UUUGGGGGLLLLYYYYY!!!!

At least my name ain't BadAss you bitch!!!!

If you don't talk dirty with me I'll have to call a hotline!!!!

Those might be "innocent" though lacking some good taste I'd say...

It become worse when someone was impersonating a police officer and told me a minor-aged player in this game pressed charges against me for sexual harassment.

Let's keep this game fun, shall we? And if your lives consist of nothing else but bothering other people for no good reason, you might wanna rethink the whole concept of your place in this world.

I rest my case.
