I was just wondering could the city people you talk to during a case help you like for instance I had a case my only witness clamed up completely then I went back and she was dead. Of course I can not go any futher but when you talk to the city folk and the give a name can it apear so we can question them making it a double murder increasing your earnings or even if we are good in the fraction they can give a witness to help? just asking cause i so needed this favor completed for the treasure.

Yes, I have to agree. At the Difficult/Hard level and above, you can't rely in suspects to answer even your first question without some persuasion. This is where it is essentially to have abilities like Rule Bending, Sweet Talking, Intimidation or Interrogation [and preferably Advanced].

There is a lot of overlap between the Toughness and Charm skills, so I suggest you just pick one variety and stick to it until you have skill points to waste, which believe me, will take months.

The first time a suspect clams up, you're given an option to use a charm or toughness persuasion method on them. Its random which charm and which toughness skill is available, so try to have two of one kind to cover all the bases.

You can never have too much of one attribute. I'm Very Charming and like to run around with a +10 or so to my score.

I think it may be just me, but I can't finish ANY cases tonight. My bad luck, OR the fact that I'm playing at 3am. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

No offense taken kitten. I don't have thin skin. plus it is just a game. That situation has happen frequently but only twice i was unable to go futher and on two other ocassions i asked the city folks and just took my chances with the one suspect and accused and got it right. So i say all of that to say this thanks for the advice. and Qsara your not alone with the bad luck thing. i sure have my days. Thanks everyone for your input.

I don't know if anyone's hit a "skill points to spare" situation yet. Certainly not me. Sirgarr or Chuck are the only people who could have done?

And by the way, thank you guys for defending me :) I'm sure your objective opinions were in no way affected by us being in the same agency...

I don't have any skill points to spare -- whiny Sleuth Admin :) is making it very very hard to get any more skill points I think ...

Spare skill points? Where? I thought I might run into that eventually. I'm still expecting that maybe someday, in a thousand years or so, I might have every skill and then not know what to do with that one more point. I guess I could auction it off and become a billionaire!

"Spare skill points? Where?"

Here. I honestly don't know what else I could buy with them. I have everything I need. :p

3 - count 'em - 3 cases today where the 2nd or 3rd suspect clammed on the 1st question - Awesome.

Negasong, I guess I don't have a lot of experience. It's only my second day. But if you seem to be having all this difficulty, maybe you are doing it wrong, or maybe you are trying to do ones that are too hard.
