I've afraid it's true Saul. A new playing restriction has been set in place for people who are both
a) Not subscribed
b) Over seven days old
But, they CAN play unless there are over 60 people logged on. This has been set in place because many unsubscribed players have been slowing down the servers and increasing traffic to the point where subscribers are having difficulty managing to play their 10 cases. This restriction is meant to increase server performance and to satisfy the demands of the subscribers - who pay to play. All you have to do is subscribe, and this restriction won't apply to you. And that's pretty fair.

Saul Ramone was a detective who didn't like making decisions with a gun held to his head. With a heavy heart he packed up his office and stepped out onto the dark, desolate street in search of a new home. Thanks for the 3 days of fun.

Ahh, Saul, "more server power" costs money. That's why we have subscriptions. Sleuth is a game, but it is also a business. We try our hardest to make Sleuth available (and it is!) for those who do not pay for a subscription, because we like the idea of everyone having a chance to enjoy Sleuth.

Making Sleuth available only to subscribers would truly be petty, not to mention a terrible business strategy.

I'm sorry but I don't think it's that unfair. It's not that much money. At the end of the day it's priorities and what you decide to spend money on.
Why should people who pay have slow access?

I know that sometimes people are strapped for cash. Believe me, I know what's it's like when things are tough.

But work and you save and your prirotise.

Like someone worked out, it's 10c a day.

Now, before you starting whining about paypal, you can send the money through the post.

I was in Korea, spoke little Korean, had to change Won to USD and then send it through the post.

And did I complain? No. Because I wanted to play.

The choice is yours. If you want to play whenever you like, you sub.

Now, if you have a computer and internet access or acess to these, you're one of the wealthiest people in the earth.

Also, while you bemoan the fact that's it's "unfair" or "petty", think of those all those who died while you read this. Died of preventable diseases, died of hunger and died because people can't spare a little money for them.

I think that's unfair and petty.

Whatever you say. If that helps sell subscriptions, so be it. To me it comes across as a bit desperate.

*feels stupid for clicking "delete" instead of "next" and slinks off to Ben with her tail between her legs to beg the Sleuth gods for forgiveness and help in correcting her error*

Saul, its not desperate. Its taking care of those people who have subbed. It also encourages unsubs to sub. How is that petty? the subbed people get better game speed, and the unsubbed are given yet another reason to sub. the subscription fee (which is incredibly low) will help pay for more servers. You say to them, get more server power or something. Will you buy it for them? If so, I'm sure they would gladly accept it! You also say you dont like having to make decisions with a gun held to your head. You aren't being forced to sub. you can stay unsubbed and play your three cases whenever the player load allows. Your decision.

Plus, many other sites have this restriction in place, only their subscription fees are much higher. Without subscriptions, there is no way for Ben and Sunny to pay for more servers. They are not made of money, anymore than you or I.

I hope this makes sense, and I hope you will stay and become a part of the wonderful community here.

im new and I can go on here since I am not seven days older, but my one other detective that actually has skills cannot go on since it is like 12 days old or sumphthin'. Anyways i have got a few questions about subscribing, and one of them is that if you are going to pay with paypal, will the password be safe? I don't know but I am just wondering if there is another way, if any of you know. I am thinking about doing it by mail, but I am not sure when it will be okay to be subscribed. How long will it take? I'm confuzzled....

Puffy, I sent cash through the mail to purchase a subscription. I live on the East Coast of the US and I sent the money on a Thurs. and my subscription was up the next Mon.
