Woah. This guy wants to charge me $20,000 instead of the $800 or so before, what gives? Does this mean you should just clear stuff early on? This is painful.

Yeah, that does sound excessive to me too. I'll adjust the formula that determines that price.

Thanks. It's still $12,000 or so, should that be the case? Will it just keep going up if I don't clear my record now?

It's based on your experience. It has to be that way, because I want that fee to be a meaningful amount, regardless of how advanced your detective is. Randomly guessing should always be a risky thing, and if it's too cheap to clear your record, that risk will evaporate.

Note, the price is the same regardless of whether you have 1 or 2 false accusations on your record, so I'd recommend only paying it when you have 2, to get your money's worth.

I had to run quite a while with two until I earned enough money to pay to have them removed. It cost me over $2000 last time. I seem to only earn $200 or $300 a case (sometimes less if I have to bribe). Maybe I'm not playing high enough up but I built up a lot of quits at hard. I'm trying to get one more skill before I try the very hard so maybe I won't have to quit so many.

So a character of a certain level pays the same amout, whether that's the tenth time they're clearing their record or the first time? To me it would make sense if you were rewarded for not having done it all the time (= you're already high in exp the first time you have to resort to it). I think I'd make the price go up according to how many times you've already cleared your record, and not (or not only) your exp. Maybe just a different way of thinking...

FYI, I got a second false accusation today. (Oops!) The price to clear was just under 20,000. This was more than the price it was when I had only one to clear (but not twice as much). This is while I had about 16000 exp.

Chuck- the price was higher because you had more experience, not because there were two false accusations.

is there a way to solve more cases, even after your 4 a day?

You can ask if any of the townspeople want you to do them a favour. Those aren't counted towards your 4 daily mysteries, I think?

Apart from that, it's strictly 4 a day. And personally, I still think that's a good thing. Stops the game addiction from seriously disturbing your life, and puts everyone in an equal position despite of how much time they are able to spend online.
