...does a one person agency have at least a 1 in 10 chance to find
a treasure if they lack a crime lab, a faction skill of one type and
what city is it easier for a one detective agency to compete in ?

It has been done. I did it once, but there was another agency that did it allon a regular basis. The detectives had slowly left behind theier bodies one by one, leaving only 2 directors, and then one of the directors stopped showing up leaving only one. She was ALWAYS here. And she used to drive me CRAZY in Mojo because I couldn't beat a single player! :) She was a sweetie, but I don't know how she did all that work!!

*notices she's losing her informational touch with her story telling*

...but there is a rule about having no more than 2 detectives per agency per person, so she wouldn't have been able to do this if they hadn't just their bodies behind.

As for the other parts of your question, estonia, a crime lab is not necessary to solve treasure hunts. In fact, you would not be able to use the crime lab at all if you only had one detective in your agency, so it's a moot point. You also don't need faction skills to do hunts, although safecracking helps in key hunts. And whichever city has the fewest detective agencies would technically be the city "easiest" to compete in, simply because you have fewer agencies to compete against.

A treasure hunt involves doing favors for the townspeople in a certain order. You are told that the treasure was given to the waiter, for example, and if you do a favour for the waiter he'll tell you that he got spooked and gave the item to the banker, and you need to get a favour for the banker to find out who she gave the treasure to, and so forth. The strategy for hunts is for each individual detective in the agency to hold a different favour, so that when the waiter comes up, the person holding that favour does it and then immediately whoever is holding the banker does that favour, and then so forth. If you only have one detective in the agency, you are at a great disadvantage, because you're counting on randomness to get your favours, whereas other agencies have the power of numbers working for them.

I feel like I'm babbling, so I hope this makes sense. You might consider recruiting a few more detectives, or if you're a die-hard solo man, then you might want to make a second detective to at least give you more cases and favour-holding ability.

No, no, no! I meant to subscribe two detectives, estonia AND latvia, and pay for them both! Your first detective is gone now!

I think a possible misunderstanding here is the difference between players and detectives.

CFM was talking about a single Player agency where that one player controls several different detectives.

Ara was saying that you should do that, to create and Subscribe multiple detectives to staff an agency.

You as the player still have Estonia subscribed and can start an agency with that detective. Then you could subscribe Latvia and have that detective join the agency also.

So your original question about can a single Person win a treasure hunt is yes, but only by controling multiple Detectives. Rach's point of why it is incredibly hard for a detective alone in an agency to win a hunt is very true.

Some people prefer to be the 'lone wolf' but, for me, one of the best parts of the game (and being subscribed) is getting to be in an agency and working with a team of other players. I subscribed to be able to play more. But, I and my other detective will stay subscribed because of the friends I've made here. (well, besides the fun of playing *grin*)
