Once you join an agency are you "stuck" there permanently? What if things don't work out and you want to start your own, is that an option after you join elsewhere? I would like to know more before I decide on whether or not to apply for an agency. Thanks for the help!

Yes, you always have the option to leave an agency again once you've joined it any time you want - be it to join another (time schedule, personality, expectation wise, etc.) or start your own :)

But if you join one with the plan of starting your own agency soonish, it might be fair to let the director(s) know beforehand just so they know where they stand and don't start wondering what happened if you suddenly up and leave ;)

Thanks for the info! I haven't decided if I can commit the time so I haven't made any plans to join one yet, I am just gathering info! I would hate to join one and then find that with my new job I can not put in the time and let others down.

Well, there are a bunch of laid-back agencies out there, so if you're curious to see what agency life is all about, you can always put an ad at the recruitment board and just add that you're not sure how much time you'll be able to spend and that you may have to leave again if you get too busy - I'm sure there are plenty of agencies who'd be happy to take you in and show you the ropes :)
