Witness killed for no reason?

Ok. Every time when a suspect was found killed I assumed, that he actually new who the right killer was and this killer was the one, that killed that witness.
Today on a really hard case, a witness was killed, although she didn't have any information about the real murderer! So why that kind of witness should be killed??? Or is it some kind of a trick to make things more complicated?

Soom, like many other aspects of the game, the possibility of a suspect being killed is random. Like cmf said, don't worry about it too much. Who knows, maybe the killer in question always intended on a double homicide and it has nothing to do with covering up evidence ;)

Well dead people are good SOMETIMES. I've had a few instances of where my last hope for WE(who had a valid alibi) died before I could ask about their suspicions.
