When the shopkepers tell you that they know something about the case (i.e. Carlos thinks he knows who the killer is...etc..) how does this help you figure things out? What can you take from this?

No. When they say someone knows something, they always know something. It is infact, not always, about a fake or none aliby person, though.

I too have found that if they say a suspect doesn't know anything about it, then that suspect really doesn't. But if they say a suspect *thinks* they know - that suspect WILL suspect somebody - but is likely to be wrong. I just don't think its worth the time to get info you can't trust anyway.
