What is the point of the "twist" in the middle of the case (you know where she sees the ghost, gunshot, etc.)? Does it provide any clue to the guilty party?

SOMETIMES.....SOMETIMES IT TELLS YOU WITCH GANG WILL START TO EITHER LIKE OR CARE LESS FOR YOU......I RECENTLY FINISHED A CASE LIKE THAT AND IT HAD TO DO WITH THE OUTCOME....I FIND THE TWIST INTERESTING....I SUGGEST JUST GOING ALONG WITH YOUR INVESTIGATION AND DO NOT MIND IT TOO MUCH...(SORRY FOR CAPS...THE KEYBOARD I AM USING IS ON THE FRITZ -SAMUEL

ALSO A FACTION SKILL HAS TO DO WITH THAT -UNDERWORLD CONNECTIONS-

Underworld Connections is for when a suspect runs away (Intermediate Level cases and above), it allows you bring them back without having to ask the Townies if they know where the person is.

The twists are for flavor and in the random cases do not affect the outcome of the case at all. The faction points are only important if you are trying to stay in good with one and do not want to help out the rival faction.

(small correction to above: suspects can run away at Incredibly Hard level cases and above)
