Do some guys have female detectives and some girls male detectives? Or do most people stick to detectives the same gender as themselves?

I had a sex change, I started off as a male with a male avatar, I changed genders after about a year. Simply because I wanted to use my own picture as an avatar. Only the oldbies will remember this.
There are a number of people who play with another gender. Though the majority pick their own gender as a detective.
