A couple of questions from a NOOB

Hi all! Just wondering about a couple of things.

1.) Why do some detectives have backgrounds on their profile (investigative reporter, disgraced doctor, reformed burgular, etc.) and others like mine don't?

2.) If you quit a case for one reason or another, does it have any effect on your detective or your score/experience? I know that if you are trying to get in good with a certain faction you might quit a case that would be a negative against them, but will it harm you at all by quitting 1 or many cases?

3.) With agencys - if you start your own you make a down payment and then pay rent. Does the rent automatically come out of the money you have or do you have to pay it manually every day? Would it be easier to just try and join an existing agency?

Thanks in advance to anybody that can help me out.

Love the game by the way! I was hooked in the first 5 minutes of discovering it.

Hi Hodgey :)

1) Those with backgrounds are those who didn't choose the option to decide archetype and skills themselves when creating their detective.

2) No quitting a case doesn't harm you in any way. The only thing it will influence is that you'll need to solve another case before your next favour.

3) The daily rent for an agency is taken out of the agency safe. So you can choose if you want to put money in there on a daily basis or have a larger amount in the safe so that you won't have to think about it every day.

Joining one of the existing agencies will give you a chance to get to learn the ropes from people who already know the ins and outs of the game and can pass on tips and tricks, but if you think it's more fun to work things out on your own as you go along, then getting together with a couple of people and starting your own agency is definitely also an option :)
