Dearest Ben:

I have purchased all skills offered, and the pick pocket from the Dies, whom I had good standing with. However, there's nothing available to buy, I presently own 39 buy skills. I only lack what "La Costra Nostra", has to offer, which is the Safe Cracking skill, and what "The Order of Socrates" gives, once my standing is good with either or. At the present time I'm building my standing up with La Costra, to purchase the safe cracking skills, but until I do, here is my question. Would it be possible for you to allow agents to transfer the extra buy skills they can not use, or sell them to another agent within their agency. Since I have 39 buy skills, I only need 20 of them to purchase the remaining two skills, which are with "La Costra Nostra, & The Order of Socrates." Since we're able to transfer money to each other or other agents, this would be helpful to the new agents that has joined our agency, in need of skills. I appreciate your consideration in this matter. I look forward to your reply.

Great idea, not sure if Ben will allow it becuase the people didn't actually earn the skills, but as I still need many skills, I like the idea! ;)

It was brought to my attention by another agent who responded by private message, that he/she doesn't agree with our being able to sell or give away buy skills within an agency. The reason was that they were earned the hard way, therefore, everyone else should earn theirs the hard way too. Well, I do not agree with this; therefore, I'd like to state my reasons why I feel we should be able to buy or give them away, as follows, to-wit:

Within an agency we GIVE AND TRANSFER MONEY to agents, that are broke, so they can pay the Shady Man, or keep from losing their character, or just because they are low on funds. We all fund Treasure Hunts, with my own money, but it benefits us all. We have GIVEN GIFTS FROM FAVORS, (we won),to the locker room so they could be sold to pay the rent in our agency. We have GIVEN FREE CASES (I worked & solved) to other agents to help build their skills points, so they could work the ridiciously hard cases, & assit on our cases on a more equal level.

Correction, we all take turns funding the treasure hunts with our own money, and even though it's hard earned money, it benefits me too, because I have a chance at winning a Treausre Hunt and Trophy.

I was given a free bottle of purfume by an agent, which I'm sure cost her a bundle of money, but she did it to help build my charm points, and because of her act of kindness, along with another agent selling me a sealed skinned coat, I am now able to solve all my cases without having to borrow any equipment from the locker room. I can solve a case all the way through without ever having to change now. Now I can elect to keep all proceeds from the sell of the gifts, so I can fund the treasure hunts, or give the gifts to the locker room, so others can use them,

Anyway, I said all of that to say this, whether it's selling or giving away buy skills, money, or cases, or gifts won from favors, that we give to the locker room so they can be used by others or sold by the agency to help pay the rent, it shouldn't matter as long as it benefits the agents on our team. That is what an agency means to me....a TEAM, FAMILY, AND FRIENDS, and I don't mind helping any of them. Please don't take offense to what I typed here, it's just my opinion. I just thought it would be a great way for those that's accomplished all the skills, why not lend a helping hand to our fellow agents, at least within our agency.

P.S. My computer is on the blink..lol. If I don't type as fast as I can, and click on the reply button, I am knocked offline, and have to sign back on AOL, and come back and continue my message..lol. I was hoping that nobody had clicked on and replied in between, because I wasn't done, therefore, my message wouldn't make a whole lot of sense...ha! Thankfully, I got back in time...and I'm sure everyone is happy about that...hehe. Sorry about the l ooonnnnggg messages. I really admire the short and get to the point type messages. At least you're not taking up the entire board to make your point. Forgive me for the length of mine. I hope nobody thinks I think I know it all, because to be honest, I feel so inadequate to the majority of you here, and if it wasn't for my wonderful friends in "Chicago," I wouldn't have accomplished what I have. Happy Sleuthing Everyone!

To be honest, I didn't take the time to read all of DaRu's postings. I'm just responding to the first post. I'm not sure I like the idea of sharing skill points. Although it would be nice to have a few more myself because I'm still in need of several skills, I think sharing within an agency would give more established agencies an unfair advantage. If an agency has been around awhile, it may have several detectives like DaRu who don't really need accumulated skill points anymore. When they recruit rookie agents and share the skills points with the new agents, that agency will always have a full house of detectives with advanced skills. New or newer agencies will have detectives still earning points to buy skills ... and recruiting rookies with almost no skills. I think that takes the fun out of "learning" to be a detective and earning your way ... and takes the fun out of competition between agencies. All detectives should have to go through the same development of skills so skill points are truly reflective of the detectives experience and not of some other detective's experience that has been playing much longer. Plus, Ben may decide to add more advanced skills in the future so they’ll be more to buy for the established detectives.

i think skills should be earned by solving cases. in a game this equals learning. i also dont support giving agents solved cases so they can do harder ones faster, i think there is a big difference between trying and getting help with a case or getting one that some1 else solved. its ur choise ofcourse...
sharing money or gifts is another thing.
i also agree with clarice about giving a big advantage this way to "old" agencies.
