i dont care if thats how you spell it or not, but
i keep doing "little jobs" for them and it says that my standing with them goes up but whenever i check my detective page it always says good(14) and i havent done any cases to bring down my standings with them

Also, when your standing with a faction gets over 10 (I think that is right) it goes down daily...so you must do the odd job every day to increase your standing.
Besides what R Anstett already mentioned, I can't think of any other reason your standing wouldn't be increasing.
