Slice me open with a swift series of paper cuts to the midsection if I'm wrong about this but I do believe the Champions Leauge final is coming up.

I have a bit of a soft spot for Arsenal...love to see them win it. But *weeps like a schoolgirl who has lost her pencilcase* if I had money on it, it'd be on Barca. I'm having major loyalty issues though, as Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho are probably my two fave players.

(compassion please...remember, I live in Canada. Whatch'all think?

Bergkamp? Not very likely you're gonna see him play :)

For all non-Europeans that are interested in soccer. Last week Seville beat Middlesbrough (4-0) in the UEFA-cup finals.

Hahaha, seems like you guys already have a "romantic" view of this upcoming game :)

I hope it will be as sensational as last's year final (AC Milan - Liverpool 3-3!!!). Let's hope for many (awesome) goals and a serie of penalty kicks to decide the winner :)

*coughs* Great?

So, what about the last Rugby World Cup eh?

Australian Reporter: So, what about the English Team?

Australia Kid crica 8 years old and with scorn: "You mean Johnny Wilkinson?"

Oh, time for a joke: What's the difference between an arsonist and the All Blacks?

An aronist wouldn't waste 9 matches!

Tee hee on the joke.

Ugh. I sooooo don't understand what is going on when I watch rugby! And don't even get me started on cricket...what the christ is an "over"??? Why is the score 341 to 6??? What just happened?

At least Aus has a team...I'm convinced the canadian team won't figure in the world cup until they stop trying to play the game in hockey skates.

For the world cup: hard to not pick brazil as the logical favourite, but I'd really love to see a tiny team like Togo or Trinidad and Tobago do as well as the quarter finals. For tomorrow, I've started to believe Arsenal might just pull it out. Pujol can't guard Henry in his hometown...

Last year's was probably the only match I've ever seen where I actually thought it deserved to be settled on penalties. God, that was amazing! Mind you I live in an area called "little italy" so...yeah you get the picture...

There a 6 balls to an over at which time you can (depending on circumstances) or have to change bowlers. In a One Day Match there are 50 Overs for each time. (Therefore each time gets 50 X 6 balls bowled to them ;) )

A wicket: this means you lose a player...

S/he could be bowled out (ie the ball hits the three sticks (also called wickets) and/or the stumps (the little piece of wood that goes over the three sticks also known as wickets).

The player could be bowled and caught- s/he hits the ball and someone catches it. They could even go out for various other silly things like L.B.W. This stands for Leg before wicket and can be particularly ccontroversial.

Runs: The aim is to hit the ball as far as you can and gain "runs" (this is the score) by running to the other end of the pitch as many times as you can.

Pitch: This is where the batsmen stand. The pitch is a piece of flat, grassless ground. There are wickets at each end and one batsman stands at each wicket.

NOW.: 341 means the team got 341 runs but lost 6 wickets (ie lost 6 people).
There are 11 eleven players in the team but you only need to get 10 players out.
