Intro Submission

I've been busy practicing my writing skill by composing Intros. I have a while before they will be considered because the last one approved was number 212 and my first submission is number 267 and that's fine.

My question is about the character length. The instructions say there is a 3000 character limit so I compose in MS Word and use the Word Count feature that counts chars and spaces to make sure I keep to the limit.

However, I find that the real limit is somewhere around 2800. While it does help me to be a better writer by forcing me to be less wordy, I sometimes need all 3000 characters to set the mood. I do count the replacement values as part of the character count, so that's not an issue.

Is there something I'm not taking into consideration when counting the charcters? What do you suppose I'm doing wrong?

CFM or Sunny can give you the final word on this.

I have noticed in writing my entries for Bio's etc. that every 'entered character' counts.

That means all letters, spaces, carriage returns etc.

The above line contains 55 such 'entries' including the carriage return after the period and the one creating the blank line underneath.

Just based on my observations.

Wish I could help you there Barry. Personally, I just write, and if it beeps at me when I hit enter I cut stuff out until it fits. :D I'm far too lazy to try to actually figure anything out anymore.

That's not true cfm. You spend countless hours correcting grammatical errors in the intros. We all appreciate your efforts.
