Sorry for the newb question, but is it possible to discover a piece of physical evidence at the scene that does not point to the killer? For example, I discover a thread from a right handed person -- could the killer be left handed, or must they be right handed?

Thanks,
Marsonis

That's a good skill. Knowing that a thread comes from a right handed person. :D

What your evidence is really saying is that a note was found from a right handed person and a thread was discovered from someone else. One of those clues will have been left by a person with an alibi, the other will point to the guilty party (assuming you have hair analysis, so you have'nt missed a hair at the crime scene).
The note MUST point to a right-handed person.
The thread could be either male or female, because you didn't manage to identify it further, but that person could be right OR left handed.
