I'm a great fan of this game. Cant have enough of it and 3 mysteries per day aint enough. Unfortunately I'm limited to 3 cause I cant subscribe. Insisting on having to pay through PayPal is strange to me.

It took me a long time to create an account in it. I live in India and Its the first time I heard of such a site.

When I finally did it and was going to get a 2 month's subscription, I was to told become an "Expanded Member" and pay up 1.95$ to Paypal. I mean why should I pay extra money to buy a game which i'm already paying 8$ for? I think if the users want to subscribe after reading that big message by JSTKDN, they should not go through all this trouble and should instead just pay by their international credit cards like so many other sites do.

If the customer is willing to pay money to a site with no guaranteed reliability, the site should also trust the customer and not make him go through sites such as PayPal.

Cut and pasted directly from the subscriber center:

Can't use Paypal?
You can pay with a check or money order too (US$ only). Make it out to Hypothetical Software and send it to:

Hypothetical Software
349 16th Ave E #102
Seattle, WA 98112
USA

Be sure to include a note with your detective's name, so we know who to credit.

thanks for the tip, I knew about that. But to mail a check from india to USA will cost half the amount itself. That's why online transactions are much less troublesome.

Yeah, online transactions are easy, but having your own credit card payment system attached to your site is quite expensive whereas PayPal is quite cheap and very safe - so maybe sometime in the future...

However, being unable to use PayPal myself I fully understand your frustration, and checks are a very costly alternative. Another option then is to send cash (again US$ only so you'll need to pay the exchange rate), and either wrap something f.ex. newspaper around it or glue it between two postcards so you can't feel through the envelope what it contains - but it is of course still a risky way of paying and you can't be sure that someone won't snatch it on its way to the States.

Thanks for the advice but I guess I'll have to make do without the subscription right now though I will see if something can come up with the Paypal.

I sent money to Ben and Sunny from Korea... twice.
Except at the Post Offce trying to buy damn stamps, it was sweet as.
Oh and spilling my Latte all over the floor, dammit.
However, the money got there, safe and sound.
