Hey All,
I've gotten 2 chemistry sets for doing favors and they're both equipped...but the smarts adjustments only shows an increase of 2 (each set should increase it by 2). Is that a glitch or is an item only effective when it's equipped once (equipping a duplicate of the item doesn't do anything)? Should i just sell the 2nd set??
Thanks for the help in advance!!

I too have two identical Items (both received after a favor case), but the bonus is +2, not +4 (each Umbrella should give +2), so I too was wondering if that is how it should be. Guess it is.

I guess so too, shadowblack, even though I wouldn't have thought that it would make a difference.

Okay, I'm confused, Eissa - did you only find 1 single piece of evidence at the crime scene despite having both hair and thread analysis??
Oh, and sounds like a good plan with the chemist set since it doesn't seem to be of any use :D

Yeah!! Thats what bugged me! But you're right because in every single case after that there's always been 1 clue that linked the murderer to the scene! Even when i haven't confirmed it I was always able to pinpoint the culprit by exclusion! For example: I had 3 suspects left with fake/no alibis: 2 with straight hair and 1 with curly, and i had 2 clues: curly hair and thread! hair didn't belong to the curly person nor did the thread and thread didn't match one of the others so i just accused the remaining suspect! If it wasn't for your tip that there's always one clue that linked the suspect I would've probably quit the case (which would've been a first for me) because i wouldn't have trusted the evidence!! Thanks for that by the way :)! I guess it was a bug or a glitch or something!! Just let it be known that this was the reason for my one and only false accusation....hehehe:)!! Thanks for all the help Greyling :)!!!

*lol* - but that excuse only works once around here - hehe ;p

Oh, and glad I could help :) - now, just bear with me that I'm going to keep bugging you a little bit about that 1 piece of evidence - it's just that it really shouldn't happen and it mystifies me. You didn't by any chance acquire hair and thread analysis during that case so that you didn't have it when you first went to the crime scene? (I think I know what your answer will be already, but I just want to make sure)

You thought right...I had the skills before taking the case! I guess they don't work all the time...i mean the advanced hair analysis doesn't work everytime for me...in my last case it said i only found a clump of hair (plus a slim person's footprint)! I thought that the advanced skill always tells you whether its straight or curly (which was the reason why i bought it) regardless of how many clues you find! Guess I was wrong :(!

Okay, the puzzling case of the 1 piece evidence will just have to remain one of those inexplicable mysteries then, but it really is odd, because it shouldn't happen once you have all 4 basic evidence skills. I think I've heard of this happening only once or twice before so I guess you just really struck out on that one.

As for the advanced skills, no unfortunately they don't work every time as they're affected by how much smart gear you're wearing. The higher smart "bonus" your outfit adds up to, the higher you're chance of learning the additional information on the clues is supposed to be - well, at least to some extent.

However, even with a maxed up set of smarts it is possible to strike out and have 1 (or maybe even 2) "unidentified" piece of physical evidence. On the other side I've also experienced to get a full list of completely identified evidence while wearing either a maxed up set of charm or tough gear :)

Yeah i guess so!! But it fits perfectly, things that have the odds of 1000000:1 seem to easily find their way to me so i'm kinda used to it :)! Thanks for the extra info Greyling, it really helps me out! (Oh and the chemist set money just barely covered Mr. Shady's fees.... now i know that the higher experience and cases solved the higher the fees...coulda saved myself some money if i knew that earlier but what the hell...money is made to be spent right?! ;)) Thanks again!!

1000000:1!! Hopefully that covers both good as well as less good things.

That the chemist set barely took care of Mr. Shady is just a sign that you've been doing well, because, yes, his fees go up with every case you solve - and as long as you payed him to clear 2 falses it doesn't matter that it might have looked cheaper earlier when you just had 1, you still get 2 for the price of 1 so to speak :)
