And, I disagree. Though it is true that La Cosa sells a skill that is of no use to unsubbed players. It is generally advised AGAINST purchasing faction skills of any faction as a newer player without the much other needed smart, tough or charming skills.
A good reason to get good with a faction as a new player, including as an unsubbed player is purchasing some helfpul equipment.
Cosa Nostra sells some great equipment in particular for tough detectives. The better you are with any faction, the cheaper prices get. The tommy gun has excellent value for tough. And wristwatches are pretty good fro smarts as well.
