WARNING GAME SPOILER!!

If you wish to enjoy the adventure of figuring out this game on your own, DO NOT read the rest of this post.

If you are too lazy to read through a page or two of threads to see if your question has already been asked a zillion times, then PLEASE read this first!

Welcome to Sleuth, and your new addiction.  There is no cure, so just accept it and enjoy it! Here are a few tips and hints that you should find helpful, and are among the FAQ of the newbie boards.

First, a great place to FIND ANSWERS and cool history threads about Sleuth is in the Moderator Picks Board. The Mods have picked out their favorite bits and made them easy to find. In addition to personal favorites, try looking over the Newbie FAQ. This can be found on the bottom of most pages as a tiny little grey link. Also the Help file at the upper right of most screens is packed with little useful tidbits.

HOW DO I SOLVE a case? First off…we recommend that you try the tutorial found on the front of the case page. It won’t count against your daily caseload, and it will give you an idea of how the game works. It’s not set up to walk you through the most efficient course through the game, but to show you how the game works, leaving you to find your own strategy. The following formulas will help you find your murderer.

PE+Fake/"none of your business" Alibi=guilty
WE+Fake/"none of your business" Alibi=guilty
2 WE = guilty

PE=Physical Evidence WE=Witness Evidence

Having a clammed suspect that will not give you an alibi is not the same as a fake/none alibi.

PE+WE DOES NOT = Guilty

You have to be >> subscribed << to either be in, or create an Agency.

To create an Agency you go to the >> Real Estate Agency << located on the map. Then click on >> View Office Agency Properties for Rent << . Follow your nose after that mate.

Hello all,
I'm new here. I've solved 4 beginner cases except 1 false accusations. I thought I would try a 'Easy' case and hence took up a random case.
Now this case got really much tougher. I had to ask many questions to all the suspects and my client and hence all have now stopped to reply. I've already bribed the barber & the waitress and still I've not got any WE or PE proved.

Now I'm not able to get any new suspects as i can ask no other suspects or clients. Also I had got hair which the barber now refuses to analyze. There are 3 suspects whose alibi are false. I m stuck.

Any help on this would be really appreciable. Thanks.

Hi Varun.

I'm afraid the answer is 'if you're stuck, quit!'. With practice, you can get the number of questions that you *have* to ask everybody down to a minimum. As you earn skill points, you'll acquire skills which mean you can persuade people to talk - advice on that one is to pick either tough or charming and get the full set of skills, rather than trying to get both at first.

Good luck!

Thanks Cordelia for your reply. Just need a advice, should I play beginner cases till I get more experienced or I should tryout the easy ones?

Cheers,
Varun

I'd see what happens once you acquire a skill or two!

Thanks Cordelia. I've acquired the Interrogation skill. Probably now I can try the easy ones gradually. Good to see I've solved an easy one :)

Ok, I think I red the HOLE thread (applause please). I still have two questions:
1. Does anyone know the exact number of exps that gain 1 skill point? I know that the number of exps required to gain you a skill point progressivly elevates to the point of 50000exps/1 skill point. Can I find how many exps I need to gain a skill point right now par example?
2. A subscription question: I REALLY want to subscribe, but I do not have a credit card (and it is unlikely I am going to acquire one). I live very very far away from USA, so how much does it cost to send a check? And how long is it going to take?

Isioni -

1. As far as I know, no one knows the exact formula. Just that skill points will come slower when you gain more exp.

2. If you go to the subscription FAQ you will find more info on sending checks or money orders. I never used that option, but I think I read somewhere it takes about two weeks.
