WARNING GAME SPOILER!!

If you wish to enjoy the adventure of figuring out this game on your own, DO NOT read the rest of this post.

If you are too lazy to read through a page or two of threads to see if your question has already been asked a zillion times, then PLEASE read this first!

Welcome to Sleuth, and your new addiction.  There is no cure, so just accept it and enjoy it! Here are a few tips and hints that you should find helpful, and are among the FAQ of the newbie boards.

First, a great place to FIND ANSWERS and cool history threads about Sleuth is in the Moderator Picks Board. The Mods have picked out their favorite bits and made them easy to find. In addition to personal favorites, try looking over the Newbie FAQ. This can be found on the bottom of most pages as a tiny little grey link. Also the Help file at the upper right of most screens is packed with little useful tidbits.

HOW DO I SOLVE a case? First off…we recommend that you try the tutorial found on the front of the case page. It won’t count against your daily caseload, and it will give you an idea of how the game works. It’s not set up to walk you through the most efficient course through the game, but to show you how the game works, leaving you to find your own strategy. The following formulas will help you find your murderer.

PE+Fake/"none of your business" Alibi=guilty
WE+Fake/"none of your business" Alibi=guilty
2 WE = guilty

PE=Physical Evidence WE=Witness Evidence

Having a clammed suspect that will not give you an alibi is not the same as a fake/none alibi.

PE+WE DOES NOT = Guilty

No. If you were to read the Featured Mystery FAQ, it states:

"5) Are Featured Mysteries replayable?
Yes, you are welcome to replay them as often as you like. However, you will only gain experience and collect your reward the first time you solve a featured mystery. Subsequent plays are just for fun."

And, no. You cannot sell real estate.

when buying real estate, one payment says "daily" does daily mean like per day, or does it mean per week or per case?

Well, since you aren't subscribed, you can't buy real estate, but I'll answer your question anyway.

The payment is taken every day at the end of the day (midnight, server time).

I'm not sure I fully understand the question, but...

If you return to the city you were in you can solve cases in it again, but you can only do cases in one city at a time.

Wow... I am a newbie of course and their is soo much. What I want to know the most is do I ever get to be able to like talk to a coroner, know how they were murdered? really investigate? What are all theese links you are all talking about and most importanty How in the world do I get around theese message boards??? That seems to be what I am having the most problem with. Do we ever have open chats? If so where?

Hey JJ...saw your post introducing yourself on the other board and I'm glad you found your way over here...yeah, for sure, it's a lot but take your time and you'll get the hang of things quickly!

As of now, finding out the particulars of how they were murdered doesn't make a difference to how to play the game, so it isn't an option...a very good idea though! As you start to play harder and harder cases you'll probably find that the setup gets pretty complicated as it is...lots of us have waaaay too many hours logged on here as testament to that!

I'm not sure which links you're talking about, but if you can post something more specific about that, someone can help you out.

The trick to the message boards is that they appear in chronological order, i.e., you see posts in the order that they are made - so to see new stuff you sometimes have to go to the last page and work backwards until you arrive at where you left off last time you checked.

As for open chat, I think it was tried here back before my time without too much success (someone correct me if I'm wrong). There is a chat function on the related site lovingly maintained by our own Detective jstkdn. See www.sleuthchat.com

Hope that helped a bit!
