Politics and Suspects

I have played 7 games, all on Beginner, and I had a few questions.
1. How do you improve the "score" you have with politicians?
2. If you have more than one person with a fake alibi, how do you know which one to accuse?
3. What if you have 2 people with fake alibis, plus one person with a real alibi who supposedly wrote the threatening note?
4. A lot of characters "clam up" at me, and I can't get the answer I want. What do I do? I don't have enough money to buy any article of clothing, and I don't have enough points to make people not clam up.
5. What if you falsely accuse 2 people, adn then you don't have enough money to pay the false accusations off your record? Can you really not do any more mysteries when you get a third false accusation? Or do they just temporarily close/block your account?
6. How do you know if you have questioned and met every suspect?
7. What is the point of the docks if the mysteries are in the town?

Thanks!

Many of these questions are answered in other threads here on the boards and in the newbie FAQ.

Here are the quick answers for you.

1 - random twists in the cases increase or decrease your faction scores. When you are over 1 with a faction you can visit them and do a 'little job" for them to earn more points.

2 - the formula to know who is guilty is:
liar/none + PE = guilty
liar/none + WE = guilty
WE + WE = guilty

3 - see above, there will be PE against people with real alibis, they are not guilty

4 - be careful of asking your questions. Ask for motive first to be sure you get all your suspects. Then alibis. You will never get everyone to answer every question you want, you have to plan out who to ask and what to ask them.

5 - if you get 3 false accusations your detective is retired. You can start a new detective and if you are subscribed you can transfer over the remaining part of your subscription to the new detective.

6 - you can go pay $20 to the Fortune Teller to see if you have all your suspects. They will tell you "all the players have taken the stage"

7 - the docks are how you travel from city to city. Travel, joining agencies, Featured Mysteries and 10 cases per day are the perks of subscribing.

Thanks!
I have a few more questions:
1. What is a WE and a PE? I couldn't find where the Newbie FAQ was.
2. What is the Real Estate agency for?

Thanks again!

Nevermind about question number one. I think it means physical evidnece and witness evidence.
But I still wonder about question two.
What is the Real Estate Agency for?

It's for renting space to start your own agency. The real estate listed are offices. Also, existing agencies will upgrade their current office spaces just as Omega recently went from 'large offices" to 'converted bank'. Each size will have a certain number of amenities. There is a 'file cabinet' to store open cases in (up to 7 per member), an equipment locker so you can store some of the items you get from favors, room for up to 12 agents, etc.
The type and amount of amenities is dependent on what 'office' you want or can afford.
Hope this helps! :)

I'm not quite susre I understand that whole concept yet, but I'm still new (2 days old!), so I'll understand it better later.

Another thing, anyone who has a real alibi CANNOT be the culprit.

"6 - you can go pay $20 to the Fortune Teller to see if you have all your suspects. They will tell you "all the players have taken the stage"

A cheaper way would be to make sure you have within the range of suspects there usually are. Beginner always has 5, 5-6 with easy, intermediate has 6-7, etc. If you have six suspects and you want to know if there is a seventh on an intermediate case, then you can question more people about the people who have motives (but as few as possible). If you absolutely are not sure, ask the fortune teller. When you get to the harder cases, then just do what R Anstett said because in those levels questions get REALLY valuable, and you need to squeeze as many as you can in the most efficient way. Consulting the fates never gets the fortune teller to clam up because he gets paid. Also, if he says "there are many signposts left", there are more suspects to be found.
