Second annual Sleuth Avatar "Beauty" Pageant?

Think it could have been the Annual Sleuthville Ball in combination with Madame Giry's mentioning of the former bio contests that might have set a bell ringing somewhere.

Anyway, about a year ago we had the first annual Sleuth Avatar "Beauty" Pageant (http://newyork.hypoware.com/map/cityhall/post.spy?id=4671), won by Croesy, and it hit me that for an event to be both first and annual then it kind of calls for at least a second one as well, right? :D

just re-read that and it sounds like im concerned about getting credit for the ones i found...that's not it. i was thinking that if it went back to the person who submitted it, it may look like i have several pics, and someone wanting to contact a det. with a certain pic wouldnt be able to...but i like the idea of a fatabase or something like that...maybe click on a pic, and get the option to contact the detective using the pic...

I really like the idea of an avatar contest. I would support suggestion B with a poll of all Sleuthers voting from a short list.

another possibility is to have categories. Real people vs. various 'sleuth theme' avatars like thugs, slick movers, molls, dolls, retired investigative reporters,

Great idea. More contests! yes.

ugh, I didn't think of the possibility that people had submitted pics to others Autumn, my bad. I like your idea though...click a pic; it takes you to the bio or whatever of its proper detective. I have no idea about the logistics of that though (sorta tech-dumb), but it seems like it should work for any of the pics except for the stock ones you get when you create your detective.

woot for categories Dogberta! Good idea.

Trying to goat people into the chat, aye, Nikkie? ;p - but if the chat can do polls with pics that could be a way to go. I'm not sure if a "beauty" contest is something for the overall Sleuth polls, but it would certainly be a way to get more of the community involved.

Oh, and Autumn, I think we just go with whichever detective has the pic or else it's going to get too complicated - and then you get to take pride in being the best plastic surgeon in town ;)

As for having more categories, it is a fun idea, but my main reason for wanting to turn it down is that the plan is to ask Ben to come up with a prize (or possibly create one ourselves, but Ben would still need to implement the details) along the lines of the one Croesy got, and I think there is a limit to what we can ask for. So I think it might be better with just one or alternatively one male and one female - and then go with the overall atmospheric sleuthy (insert whichever adjectives you feel like) quality of the picture(?) :)

LOL at greyling! I think the amount of work Ben would have to do is something we need to consider...

STOP!!!!! Wow you sound like someone I know, Lucian. He also likes to speak for the sleuth team. :) Lucian I appreciate the help, but please be complete when explaining guidelines and making statements. In these cases it is best to point detectives to the place where the guidelines and instructions are given, and in terms of time frames point them towards the people that know. Thanks.

The avatar guidelines can be found in city hall under "submit content."

If it is up soon, I hope so, I am doing my best. But my avatar helper has his mind on something (or shall I say someone) else. This is why I asked Greyling when the contest will be held, so I know what deadline to work against. And yes, I will make sure they will be up before then.
