Think it could have been the Annual Sleuthville Ball in combination with Madame Giry's mentioning of the former bio contests that might have set a bell ringing somewhere.

Anyway, about a year ago we had the first annual Sleuth Avatar "Beauty" Pageant (http://newyork.hypoware.com/map/cityhall/post.spy?id=4671), won by Croesy, and it hit me that for an event to be both first and annual then it kind of calls for at least a second one as well, right? :D

I've no idea if it's possible to put pictures on the poll, but it would definitely be great if it is. Hope Ben will give us an answer on that :)

If it's not possible, that option would probably need a bit of forewarning to avoid a bunch of confused people who'd suddenly find themselves facing a voting option for names they might never have encountered before.

And I agree that we should allow for both people entering themselves and others - there are lots of brilliant, funny, charming, etc. photos around, and I'm guessing most people won't mind someone else liking their avatar and entering it even if they haven't noticed the pageant themselves :)

If ben doesn't facilitate the poll, we can on sleuthchat.

I sent in a new avatar not too long ago. If it gets processed, maybe I can give it a shot. I'm not a handsome devil like some around here, although I am pretty good-looking. :)

I'll think about it. If not, then I am more than happy to volunteer as a judge.

ok see now, here's what makes me nuts about this: I see lovely avatars as suspect pics all the time while doing cases, but have absolutely no idea to whom they actually belong. Otherwise I'd totally be nominating half y'all...very nice looking group I've stumbled upon ;P

*thinks about how his current avatar is more cheekbone than man*

the hat does not really help lol.

As a non-entrant, I'd also be willing to judge if it's any help.

Oh, I forgot to say: as a follow up to that, for a while I've kind of been thinking that a community page that matched avatars to their original contributors might be a nice addition to sleuthville. Watchall think?

what about if we have contributed pics for others? would we still be listed or would it list those who use them? i think ive found about 10 pics for people, and submitted a few of them....

just re-read that and it sounds like im concerned about getting credit for the ones i found...that's not it. i was thinking that if it went back to the person who submitted it, it may look like i have several pics, and someone wanting to contact a det. with a certain pic wouldnt be able to...but i like the idea of a fatabase or something like that...maybe click on a pic, and get the option to contact the detective using the pic...
