is there a set of intervals that relate to skill points?
or to rephrase the question..
is there a set amount of exp and/or number of cases between skillpoints?

or is it just random?

I've been wondering for sometime.. And haven't wanted to sek through many many many pages to find the answer..
if only there was a way to search the messege boards!
*hint hint, winks*

I know there's a formula the game uses to derive skill points. I also know it's based on experience, and that it increases exponentially. As for the formula itself, I couldn't tell you... but if it helps you figure things out, I'm at 383640 exp. with 131 total skill points. They seem to be coming currently about every 25000-30000 exp. or so, but that is just an estimate based on my bad recollection.

The actual rate of increase is a bit of a mystery on purpose for the lower levels.

At a certain point is does flatten out. (roughly around the 1 million mark perhaps) It takes roughly 50K XP to earn 1 SP at that level.

There are other threads that discuss this, but there is no published formula to show the sliding scale.

And...it also may have another factor in it that we haven't been able to figure out as well, perhaps tied to case level...age..we really don't know. One of our mysteries of Sleuth, and I actually have gotten to where I like that there is still a secret or two around town. :D
