If you are able to do a favor for so-and-so, and for whatever reason choose not to do it immediately, can you then continue on with your case load and come back to it later, or is it like big lucy's cabaret where if you start a case it is no longer available?

But if you choose to hold a favor, you don't accumulate cases toward the next one until you complete it, right? In other words... I can't hold a favor for 3 cases, then do 2 favors in a row?

No, you can't do 2 favours in a row

The best you can do is:

Solve 3 cases - then instead of doing your favour case, solve 2 more "normal" cases. You can then solve your outstanding favour case, solve one "normal" case, then you are in-line for a new favour case. (i.e. it remembered that you were already 2 cases towards your new favour case)
