If you are able to do a favor for so-and-so, and for whatever reason choose not to do it immediately, can you then continue on with your case load and come back to it later, or is it like big lucy's cabaret where if you start a case it is no longer available?

No, you can come back to it later. Welcome to the wonderful world of favor saving!

The only time u will lose the favor you are holding is if u travel. When u return it will be gone. Otherwise it will remain there until u decide to do it :)

And you lose your favor, forever, when you join an agency.

Not lose in the sense that once you are in an agency you never get that favor again. You just have to start back over with accumulating cases to receive your next favor.

Wow, thanks for all the responses!
But if you choose to hold a favor, you don't accumulate cases toward the next one until you complete it, right? In other words... I can't hold a favor for 3 cases, then do 2 favors in a row?

No, you can't do 2 favours in a row

The best you can do is:

Solve 3 cases - then instead of doing your favour case, solve 2 more "normal" cases. You can then solve your outstanding favour case, solve one "normal" case, then you are in-line for a new favour case. (i.e. it remembered that you were already 2 cases towards your new favour case)
