How many cases have you quit?

I recently had to quit a case, and I wondered how many cases have you been forced to quit from.

It depends on who you ask that question to :)
I say you do not quit cases based on faction standing becuase over time they equal out and you can always use the Experience Points and Reward for the case. If you are trying to build a very high standing with a faction to be the leader of it then I can see why you might want to quit cases that hurt that. But that is only for those with a standing of 40+ in most cases.
If you can not solve the case that is a different issue. You have to quit because Shady is a tough person to be friends with. Rather than guess on the guilty party, it is always better to quit.

Can you be a faction leader without subscribing? How do you get to be a faction leader?

Yes.
You get to be a faction leader by having the greatest amount of favor with that faction when the day turns over.

It can change, but doesn't always. You have the opportunity to take the lead by being the detective with the highest standing at Midnight Sleuth time.

As to case history and numbers quit...mine is red-faced tail-hanging shame, something like 1 in 7. In my defense, for the first few months I was hanging around here I didn't really pay attention to the message boards (*swats self with rolled up newspaper*) so I pretty much didn't accuse unless I had 2 pieces of evidence and no/fake alibi.
