First a couple point and click adventure games.

A Case of the Crabs:

(and it's more polished sequel)
The Goat in the Grey Fedora:

Death Wears a Tophat:

It's not much of a game, but 10 outa 10 for atmosphere. ... Okay, maybe it's just that I absolutely love the background song -It's "Cry me a river" by Julie London, the best torch song ever recoded. EVER! Even better than Jessica Rabbit's "Why Don't You Do Right."

Here's one set in 1929 in Egypt (I actually found it googling based on another sleuther briefly mentioning it)

(Also from the BBC)
The 7 Noble Kinsmen.

And finally a neat game that is about the time period rather than a detective mystery.
