This may be an odd request, but I figure it is the best place to ask.

Do any of you own one of those murder mystery dinner kits which you can buy in larger book stores?

Or know of a place online to download them.

Purchasing this kits completely new are with shipping on the costly side considering you can only play them once.

I will compensate copy and shipment costs. (I believe those dinner kits only contain paper right?)

I've heard of the dinner mystery kit and I believe I even saw something like that but cant remember where I saw it at.

There is something around where I live....or somewhere, that my family were going to go to. It was my cousins idea. You get on a train and its a murder mystery theme...and as you go on this mini train trip, you are trying to solve a murder , where anyone around u could be the guilty one. That would be so much fun if we could just get our crap together, and do what we say we are actually going to do :)

Some times you can find those games in charity shops. People buy the game, play it and then donate it back to the shop. It's like a rental system.

Otherwise you could plagiarise Gosford Park and write up your own bits of evidence to reveal. You could give yourself the role of the blundering detective who misguides the guests into thinking the murderer might be someone else.

But honnestly, these things aren't too hard to write on your own. I was in a home made game and I was given the role of 'Mad Uncle Marvin'. I bought a large bottle of mead to use as a prop. Only everyone thought it was just a prop, and not alcoholic... Fun times. :D

Look what I just found. Hope it helps. (you can download the game and then print all the bits and pieces off. However, the minimum for any game I could find was 8. And the cheapest was €25.23)

Christ... I just found a murder mystery dinner kit for up to 200 guests... 200?! I sure wouldn't like to be the caterer for that rabble.

Thanks folks. To pay for new versions is readily available. But paying tha tmuch cash for something you can use once for a couple of hours, is sorta out there.

Was hoping someone had a much cheaper copy around.

200 guests..........I hope they are not ALL suspects.....because I even have trouble remembering my own name on some days. lol.

This is the right place to ask. Woody and I happen to have quite a few of them. We actually did one with friends while our boat was tied up at the lock on our lovely Trent-Severn water way. It was a blast as we were in costumes on a hot summer day with all the boats passing through the lock wondering what play we were doing? They are packed away right now as we are renovating our house but I will try to dig them up for you. The older ones are on paper and if I remember there is a cassette tape that goes with them for sound effects and clues. Let me know if you want them and where I should send them.

Also, you might be able to buy one cheap from an online auction site like ebay.

Problem they are generally big boxes, would take 15 bucks the ship.
