I think it might have started out as a mistake which was then never fixed again. Now it's just one of the mysteries of Sleuth :)

I've not seen that egg yet. What does it look like? Does it look like a Faberge Egg? Those things are... ornate to say the least. They were the ultimate easter eggs.

Maybe Ben was thinking of creating a world in which we wouldn't have been able to see the stats of an item perfectly and that it'd have cursed items and we'd have to figure out which were cursed. Like maybe it'd have had the Hope Diamond - worth loads but devasting to you. I think Hope Diamond was aboard the Titanic, and that in the film Titanic, the Diamond that gets dropped into the ocean at the end is meant to be the Hope Diamond.

I rem thinking when I started playing [not that long ago] that maybe it had some special power [and yeah it does kind of look like a Faberge Egg] and I searched back through threads to see... Rather than say to you do the same, here's the first thread I came across, there's others further back I'm sure in the Newbies Section... I think Ben has added this eggs to give us something to talk about. Once in a while someone is starting a thread about the "secret" powers of the egg. There was a funny thread about it when they just came out. You can try and dig it ;P

I think the purpose of those eggs is that you can sell them without feeling guilty to chose money over being helpful to the rest of your team-mates.
