He woke sore from sleeping in his chair again.
Looked up at the wall, stared at the mural of the clock painted on it, “best alarm clock I ever bought, wakes me up at the same time every day.”
He patted his pockets, notebook, blade, flask, everything was there. He glanced over at the pile of papers on his desk. Where did those come from? Maybe a little bird dropped them off in the middle of the night.

He liked the small office on the lower level of the manor house. It had its own entrance to the rear of the property for quick escapes and quiet entrances. This used to be the old servants quarters in a by gone time. Sure it was not attractive, but the directors upstairs would hopefully forget about that bell pull.
The agencies clerk Hildegarde upstairs would be sure to let him know about any visitors.

An apparition appears in Ran's office in front of his desk. In a moment it assumes the form of Rhiemma Moon, who is on assignment in Delhi. A moment later the apparition speaks in Rhiemma's voice:
Hello, Ran!
I now have the Holy Man as a contact and am sending this message through him. (Cheaper than a telegram!) *laughs* ( there is an echo of a male voice chuckling as well)
Hope Priscilla isn't being a bother. And don't let her find out about the bell pulls. She is a cat after all. Just bigger than average.
I need to cut this short so as to not wear out my new friend. But, I may come home soon. I miss everyone and will bring gifts!

At that the apparition faded quickly leaving Ran sitting behind his desk wondering what the *bleep* just happened.
