A request for soemthing here that others may like also.

I would like to be able to mark agency threads as public or private.

Private ones would only be able to be viewed by agency members.

Public threads by the Sleuth Community overall.

I know that some agencies would have very little public, but I am sure that would enjoy reading over some of the roleplaying that goes on in the other agencies.

I agree that it would be nice to see more people discussing things here on the boards.

Adding an Agency section would be nice, but one thread per agency might get a bit out of hand too with some of the *ahem* larger agencies.

I think I also am just plain curious on what happens, what goes on in other agencies. I like watching the interactions and re-hashing of old ideas.

Maybe if there could be a visitor status for agencies? below rookie, no privledges except to view things? Solve that vouyeristic twitch ;)

I like visitor status. :)

Another idea that I brought up a long time ago was having a "friends of" situation. For instance where I have the right to jump in and out of Mojo to read their message board, but am disabled to play a game. On my detective page it would say "friend of mojo."

Also I think it would give a situation where agencies will start to inter-mingle a bit more. And you can see who is friends with whom.

Oh and Ran, I have visited a few agencies, the way that people play the game is the same.......but how their run their message boards and policies are really different.

Mojo by far has the coolest msg board I have seen, after TAFKADD. :)

lol, thank you JST, but see now I want to come visit and read there!

I would love to see a Friends of Tag on the detective page. I think that may work much better in the long run also for building a stronger community.

Someone (rightfully) mentioned in sleutchat. That the danger is that it turns in to a situation where only the cool kids can play. I think she is right, that my idea may not be such a good one. (Again this could be a migration away from the main boards.)

Another interesting situation is, if you can turn someone in to a friend. I suppose there are situations where you un-friend them too. That could cause a lot of hurt feelings.

I think that you are trying to make this too complicated.

My understanding of what Anstett is proposing is basically a way to add to the agency stat page, (where you see fame, location, treasure....) a place where you can get a peek at the inside workings by looking at preselected boards. This actually would help get a bit of feel for the differences in the agencies. Recently there has been a request for bios for agencies type things. I'd rather get a preview of what really happens, than what people think happens.

(For the record, my initial reaction to this post was to say, NO WAY!, but after reading the debate it became clearer what the proposal actually was.)

I agree that it does have the chance to make some people feel excluded.

Those same people who do not talk to others in sleuthchat for instance. There are lots of ways to upset someone if they are looking to be upset. If we really do not wnat to upset anyone then we should remove the high score standings so no one feels inferior.

CFM has the idea of how it could be useful to everyone. I would love to see what you do in TAF Jst, as I know that I would love to see what other smaller agencies are doing.

You also said that we all play the game the same way. I think that is wrong. We must be doing things differently or all the agencies would be equally balanced. If others could read what happens in one agency maybe that would help to make thier agency better. I am never afraid to steal a good idea from someone if it will help me be better.

I really like the idea of an agency "friends" list. Where people on the list could pop in for a visit. I'd also like a way to exchange things between agencies. Example, someone messaged me last night asking if I would get them a bloodhound, since I have a good standing with OoS. I agreed and they had to resign from their agency and become a member of mine to pick up the dog and drop off the payment, then resign and go back to their's.

Not that I minded at all, but there really should be some easier way to achieve that. Being the only director I can't resign like that.

And I'd love to be able to visit another agency and see how they do things.
