Hi everyone.

I am thinking of starting my first hard case.
I have been playing nine days, have 420 exp. and have Interrogation,
Intimidation,
Advanced Thread and
Stress detection.
I also have a flick knife and a magnifying glass. (I'm smart + tough)

Should I try a hard one? How many suspects will there be? Will it always be the same number?

Thanks, Lucy.

Naomi Hongs sleuth helper lists all the difficulty levels:
http://members.optusnet.com.au/hongus/Sleuth_helper/sleuthhelper.html

Hard: 8 people, 3 pieces of evidence, 3 suspects

Further follow Peter's advise. But also don't accuse unless you are sure who the killer is. Formula copied and pasted below.
Fake/No aliby + PE (Physical Evidence; footprint, hair, thread, note) = GUILTY
Fake/No aliby + WE (Witness Evidence; someone suspects them) = GUILTY
Unsure about aliby + 2WE = GUILTY

I've found that infomation on that site wasn't right. When I do intermediate cases I get 6-7 suspects (I check with Thomas he says that all the players have taken the stage). And I get 3-4 suspects. *points to his previous case notes scattered on the floor*

I've tried a Hard case today and couldn't do it and I have 2k xp. Though I have an odd choice of skills. Such as Judge of Character. Useless when I was on my own, but useful now that I'm in an agency. Another det. found out who the murderer was then handed the case back to me to acuse and get the xp. :D

Sam is right. The slueth helper has some mistakes in it. If you want the list PM me.

I think it's best to get the list to Naomi. :)

I'd like to update my advice. If you get one more skill. Either hair anaylsis or advanced interrogation then should be able to solve at least half the hard cases.

Jstkdn, I PMed her my list long ago. But she's either not around or doesnt have time to change it. That is why Im offering the list on the board. If someone wants to have the list and programme a new sleuth helper, thats fine by me. But I cant!

Reda, there is a new Sleuth Helper already programmed.
I've already given it to some newbies. As I didn't program myself I never thought much about asking Ben to use it tp replace Naomi's. I've already passed it on to some people and if others want it I can give it too them. If there's a need, I'll send it on to Ben.
I never thought about it much as it's only been lately that newbies are constantly making reference to the Sleuth Helper.

LED, you want me to send you my list of numbers per level?

No, Reda, it's all done. Another player updated the Sleuth Helper and sent it to me. But like, I said, as I didn't program it and stuff, I didn't want to ask Ben to use it to replace Naomi's.
