I'm doing a favor (not for the bartender, I don't think I'll be getting him in time to do the treasure hunt) and I have one suspect that clammed so I couldn't get an alibi, but I have a witness that saw him wearing the watch after the murder.

I have a suspect with a fake alibi and a footprint that belongs to him, he's the witness who saw the other guy.

Who do I accuse?!! I've eliminated everyone else (research and one died) and everyone's clammed now after I asked all my questions.

I know there's a formula, but I don't remember exactly what it is.

Fake/No aliby is a MUST.

Fake/No aliby + PE (Physical Evidence; footprint, hair, thread, note) = GUILTY

Fake/No aliby + WE (Witness Evidence; someone suspects them) = GUILTY

Unsure about aliby + 2WE = GUILTY

Those are the formulas we have developed.

The last one should only be used if really necessary, since it is the hardest to get.

So I'm safer accusing the no alibi+PE than the unconfirmed alibi+WE?

Is no alibi really a must? Does PE ever point to the wrong person?

Yes PE points to the wrong person all the time. With the harder level cases you may have 4 pieces of PE. Each of those will belong to someone.

Unconfirmed Alibis are only safe if you have WE + WE (or have positively eliminated all others).

One WE does not a murderer make.

Yes, I've had PE point to a guy with an alibi, I was in a hurry and wasn't paying attention and accused the guy..."pssst Shady, here's all my money, clear my record would ya?"

Why on earth do people visit the crime scene afterwards? Do you WANT to get framed? I should get them sent down just for tampering with evidence!

They might have been there the day before.
*sighs and wonders why the whole "suspension of disbelief" thing doesn't work too well with some people."

Well if the false PE was a bloody footprint then they'd have to have visited afterwards, or at least assaulted the victim prior to the murder. If it was a threatening note then that's harrasement. If there was a torn out clump of hair then they probably assaulted the victim. And if there was a thread caught under the fingernail... well... they probably doing things that they shouldn't or they assaulted the victim as well. They're all guilty! Everyone's guilty of something, especially the ones that aren't.

But yeah, I get your point... I was thinking fair too narrowly. And that is why I'm not a PI in real life.
