As a real life private investigator, I've noticed that a great deal of the duties that come with the profession aren't listed. I know this game tries to stick with the whole film noir theme (and does a great job of it), but I think for the sake of investigators who want to make some chump change to pay their sketchy bar character tab, there should be alternative cases to the standard murder investigation. I'd like to see more cases about cheating spouses, thieves, tracking down information about people for clients, and perhaps some surveilence jobs. At the moment I only have a free account, so I'm not aware what other types of jobs are available to subscribed members; but I still think it would be nice if the cases had a bit more variety.

After all, how many of these poor NPC's have to die each year? ;)

Not just each year, but each DAY? We must get through the population of a small country at least every week. Perhaps it's a valid alternative to other forms of population control...

But I like you're thinking...

"Well Darlin', I caught you husband cheating on you. I got photos, but I'm sure you don't really want to see them. I also know you ain't got the money to pay me front. So how about we dicuss some alternative payment... now that you're heading for divorce"

Think of the sleaze! x_x

Sam you point out the problem with it. A game for 13 and older should not have sleezy divorce proceedings. The non-graphic murders for things like forgetting birthdays seem to be acceptable to the parents who play this.

Yeah, how many 13 year olds haven't wanted to kill their parents because they didn't get what they wanted for their birthday lol

Let's really think about that for a minute: playing a game that involves murder over things like forgotten birthdays is perfectly fine, but as soon as you throw sex in the mix, you cross the line. Sounds to me like a few parents need to have their heads examined.

I know killing someone because they forgot your birthday is bit over the top... but when it's your own mother who's forgotten your birthday twice in a row... well... that sugests something a little more about the relationship between the two (happened in one of my cases).

Well, the subscribers do have the chance to do a couple of odd jobs in London and Delhi, but it would be fun to see maybe a small expansion of the mission options to include some other the other detective line things you mention :)

Maybe an alternative for treasure hunts would be nice also. Besides those treasures you could also trace down serial killers that jump from city to city. Meanwhile you can gather all sort of hints and pieces of evidence that fill in the profile of your killer. Treasure hunts can be nice but sometimes look too much like a lottery, meaning you have to be lucky that a particular witness wants a favor from you. Going after a serial killer could be designed in a way that it involves more skills and thinkwork.
