Suggestion: Agency Websites

Just wondering if this was suggested before or if this a totally brand new idea but...

Wouldn't it be a good idea to make a creative website for our agencies, so that people could take a look and see what they think about that particular agency? The agency could include a variety of information posted on the sites, including:

-Agency information (location, fame)
-Expectations for new members
-Policies (if any)
-Current members
-Agency features (locker, lab, files)
-A list of detectives to contact for more information

The websites don't have to be fancy, just creative and fun to view. They could be hosted through free web hosters like...

-Geocities
-Freewebs
-Piczo

The good part is, websites can be modified so if information becomes accurate, then it is easy to modify it to accuracy. It's a creative touch to recruiting detectives. And making the website doesn't have to take long.

Is this a good idea? Would mainly every agency want to have their own website?

What is everyone's feedback on this suggestion?

I like the idea of it.

I suggested an agency page last week (in the discussion about recruitment board, it's one of the suggestions I made there.) All this stuff could go there. I don't think having those agency pages as an external thing is a good idea. Simply because if people wanted to go through that trouble, they would have created it already externally on all those free sites. Also those free sites, bombard you with banners and tracking cookies. Also I don't know how many people have posted about wanting to create a sleuth webpage, which never ends up going live or stays active. With exception of those websites that are already on community sites. We often see people referring to those websites to get info, or have a chat, or whatever.

Ben currently has all technical capabilities available from what I can see to have something like this internally.
The detective page we all have, can also have a different one for an agency page. The bio that we are able to post there, is where creative expression can go in terms of describing an agency on the agency page. And then Ben can create a form for other fields on the agency page. Also automatically generating information that is already known in the system about the agency (like fame, the names of members etc.)

If there are people that want to have their website up in a hassle non-tracking/commercial free environment. I am willing to host for free on busyplanet.org, where I also put sleuthchat and sleuthmap. I own the space and the domain, it is add and tracking cookie free.

However, as I suffer from PMS on most days of the month. This offer does NOT come with free webpublishing advise, me fixing your code, taking responsibility, or making changes for you. I want to literally only upload it to my site, and nothing else. You deliver clean HTML code in text format , and low bandwidth images, and I put it up. Amendments I will upload when I have time. This means people who claim to know how to make a webpage, but in reality have only fillled in a wizard where images and coding are auto generated and hidden......I can't do anything for.

The PMS 'excuse' reminds me of a joke I heard -
Q.Whats another name for a woman's period??
A. Mad Cow disease

SO not funny but hey

Nik, you will host an agency site free?

I may call on you.
