Is anybody else having problems with asking suspects anything other than alibi questions and getting page errors? It's bizarre because the page loads then flicks as if going to another page which errors out. Is it possoble that this computer illiterate needs to adjust her settings? Any help or reply is much appreciated.

Hi scarepettagirl, I'm not having any problems. Could it be your computer? Maybe someone with some computer experience can help you out. It must be annoying, I hope you can fix it.

I'm not having the problems either. I've had similar problems a couple times before, if it's the same problem I had, it seems to be somewhat isolated to one case. With this happening though, I found that usually the question goes through but stays on the list.

When I had that happen on an easy case during a hunt awhile back I decided to experiment - asking the question a second time resulted in a normal answer, no additional information, as the answer had gone through the first time, no error, and it removed the question from the list.

I'm not real good with today's computers, but I doubt it's in settings since the alibi question works fine.

Yeah, sometimes there is a hiccup while the game is creating a random mystery, and the case comes out bugged. You mya have to quit the case you are working on and start a new one.

Thank you for the replies. I haven't tried a new case yet, so I'm not sure how things are working yet.

I didn't quit the cases, I've experienced the problems with because the info they gave would appear on my case files. If it should happen again I'll try quitting it and see what happens.

Being a green horn, I haven't tried anything other than beginner and easy cases. Thanks again!

By the way this game is addictive and funny, I wonder, have I found a new vice?

Did I say funny? I meant fun.

I think I found my problem! I started a new case and it was acting the same . So I did the unthinkable thing, well at least for myself, and I read the page. It mentioned about security levels and which boxes to check to possibly allow transmissions, that corrected the problem.

Amazing what you can do, when you actually read a page as opposed to closing it!

I'm getting the same error. After clicking a link, it looks like it is going to work for a second and then generates the error with http:/// in the address bar instead of a valid address.

The problem began on Monday, when the banner ads were added back to the case page. Links on other pages, as well as using the tabs within the case page do not generate the error. The problem has persisted across mulitple cases.

scarpettagirl - Exactly what change did you make to correct the problem? I followed your suggestion about reading the page which comes up when the error occurs and following the suggested fixes, but nothing worked.

Odd - I don't recall the http:/// in the address.

Just a shot in the dark here, but maybe the error that appears to have to do with the banners only effects the unsubscribed?

I would suggest trying another browser and seeing if that helps though since it looks to me like they each use different codes (and thereby handle security in different ways). I've used Netscape and Firefox here rather recently, and I am using Opera right now - I haven't seen the error described with any of the browsers I mentioned.

I also have found this error occurring but only with the " unsubscribed" characters.....some in our agency and ones not in an agency...it does create a real challange to solving cases. I think Ben is looking into this.

Carrie, Scarpettagirl was able to fix this problem by adjusting her browser settings. Maybe she can tell you exactly what she changed to fix it. Alternately, you can return your problem to the Default settings, and see if that clears it up. (If you do that, remember you'll need to re-allow popups from sleuth in order to receive personal messages).

I assume this has something to do with the google text ads.
