Agency Lockers?

Ok, I've read that when you join an agency they have a "locker" with equipment you can use. My questions are;

What happens to the equipment you have when you borrow something? Does it go into the locker for others to use? If so, how do you get it back if, say...someone uses your magic hat then leaves the agency?

Are you allowed to change equipment in the middle of a case? If everyone clams and charm would work better than tough to get the answers, can you go change to charming gear then go back to your case?

When you take out equipment, it swaps it with what you already have.

You can, if you are an officer or director, decide to make it only available to that group (officers/directors). If someone takes it and leaves, then there is nothing to do.

You can switch equipment during a case; maybe switch to smart to search scene then back to charm/tough for the rest. Yes, you can change and to charm/tough it either works better.

Hope that helps!

I really don't like the idea of someone being able to leave with stuff from the lockers. I think if you leave an agency there should be someway way to make sure you leave with what you came with.

What's to stop someone from joining an agency, dropping their briefcase, and picking up a bloodhound and leaving with it. The agency is out 1 expencive dog.

That is why there are ranks, and rookies can't take anything from the locker at all. I know that in the past agent ranking was usually reserved in the agencies I worked with, for until we had at least a little trust in the detective. There is also the added feature that Jojo has explained above that allows you to only keep easy to find items that cost little or nothing, for agent access if you like.

They way I see it. It's all about being responsible for yourself, and earning the privilege of the locker.

Do thefts happen? Yep. That's why you don't let strangers have acess to your dogs, orbs, and other expensive or difficult to find items.

When you get to Officer and Director ranks, you may actually "reserve" items from the Locker for different rankings. The most expensive can be reserved for the higher rankings, and the least expensive for the lower ones. Getting access to the Locker is a privilige, and you cannot abuse it.

peter does have a point. Though you can safe guard your expensive items. An agent shouldn't be able to leave with anything, even a rasputins egg...because that's stealing. :)

Personally one of the most valuable items I actually find the white lab coat. It's only at a certain level that you can get it (not incredibly hard that you end up being stuck on forever), is the smartest coat you can get without it hindering charming/tough, and is not for sale anywhere. If the white lab coat leaves your agency, you actually have to get a newbie in to replace it in hard favours or really hard favours, or whatever it was. And do you really want to section off a white lab coat, for an agent who got it for the agency in the first place.

Though a zoot jacket or a dog is expensive, you can replace them fairly easily.

Lucy sometimes has the Lab Jacket for sale. ;)

Oh and in case, the repetition didn't make it clear, there is a section in the locker for Officers & Directors and a section for Director's Only where you can place items :D

I agree with Jstkdn -- stealing is stealing, and once you get to Incredibly Hard favors, it's over for the other items like the Lab Coat or the Dragon Necklace or the Seal Skin Hat.
