In training some of the new people for Mojo we were having the never ending discussion about skills.

We where talking about when we first used a skill what it felt like.

So for the rest of Sleuthville...

What Skill made you go "COOL!"
What Skill made you go, "oh that's it?"

The one I liked the most was Underworld Connections. After countless cases of chasing suspects around, it was great to just go CLICK, bring her back now.

The one I did not like at first was Research. I took it right away when picking skills (too much tme in the library) and then when I first used it was.... "ok, well I guess that is nice." I understood later how valuable it was, but the first time was just oh.

My first case after learning Hypnotism. I found it cool to have most of the suspects I was questioning each give me an extra name of who had motives. It really reduced the number of questions I had to ask to find the complete list of suspects.

I have to say i liked lock picking the best. The first time i used it I thought to myself "Finally, i get to click on that link and not have to leave and come back!" And then when I clicked on it and it gave me that persons alibi it was great. Like i was getting away with something :)

The one i didnt really care much for the first time i used it (and still dont) is Judge of character. The first time i used it I was less than impressed and disappointed because it was useless (was told i would have a better chance of getting my suspect to co-operate if i was nice so i sweet talked them and they clammed) I thought "I just wasted those skill points on THIS?????"

Most disappointing...hypnotism.

Most pleased because it was useful...research. (I could have kicked myself for waiting so long to get it!)

Most pleased because it makes live less annoying...a tie between lockpicking and UnderWorld Connections. (Yes, Moon, I had to retype it to get it right! :P )

I had Lock Picking right from the start but it often proved to be handy. Research is also helpful of course and absolutely a must. I'm about to experience the effect of pugilism...

Research. I am embarassed to say research was the last skill (minus the charm skills, I am tough) I got before the multi city expansion. From day 1, I was always the most experienced agent in my agency, and I never bothered to read tips on the message board, as I really wanted to figure out stuff on my own. I always assumed it was a crap skill.

When I got the skill, I mentioned it to an agency member, you gotta get get that skill it's cool. And she nearly fell off her chair, that I never had gotten it. When I saw what the skill did, I felt really stupid for not getting it earlier.

For me both awards go to the first two skills I ever got: Research and Judge of Character.

From the start Research has been my alltime favourite skill, and I was so glad I had chosen it from the very beginning :D

However, Judge of Character - *rolls eyes* - such a waste of skill points when just starting out, it's a wonder I ever managed to solve any cases. I imagined it would be this amazing skill to have, and then it just turned out to be completely useless for months - *lol*

Hum, first is either Lock Picking or Research, canīt decide. I also liked Underworld connections, on AI it made life a lot easier.
Judge of character was least liked and least used for me.

Research - "WOW!"
Judge of Character - "Oh my God. Why did I buy this garbage?"

Thread Analysis - "Cool!"
Interrogation - "When do I get to use this?"
