Just a bit puzzled here. Does anyone else get banner adds when they go to the message boards?
I'm suddenly getting them today, though most of them show "dead" links.

Now that you mention it, yes, I do. But they are so much more discreet than the last ones, I didn't even register that they were there!

Yeah, we're trying out the Google text ads right now. I don't think they're too annoying (they're definitely better thant the Anna Kournikova banners). If they prove successful in supplementing the subscription income, than we may expand them to a few other city hall pages. We don't plan on having them on the game pages, however.

Well, at least I don't mind them. I don't even care! Nah, I'll just avert my gaze. No need to shut them off. Good idea Ben! :)

I would block off adds from the competition ben! :) Like the mystery case file game.

So Ben is it cost-per-click or cost by 1000 impressions, or based on sale? I don't mind going wild following the links in the adds if it makes any difference. :)

Why block the competition? I can play on multiple sites. It's not like I actually do work at college anymore.

I don't want to influence anybody's ad-clicking behavior. Follow them if they are interested to you.
As for competitors sites, I don't see anything out there that is likely to steal Sleuth players away. There seem to be some other interesting detective game ideas, but none of them are particularly well implemented.
