ummm k. i really hope this is the place to talk about anything related to SLEUTH, like the sign said, cuz this is pretty random.

anyhow -with all due respect to the maker's efforts to maintain the feeling of the time period being reproduced- it strikes me as funny that in the 8 or so weeks that i've been playing this game, i have NEVER encountered ANYONE named either john or mary

and yet on the other hand I am routinely interrogating people named like Girish Yelverton.

*goes back in time to the roaring twenties and prevents and angry hood wearing mob from harrassing the union of a south asian lass with a very WASPy-type gentleman*

hee hee go periodicy.

LOL SS... we knew Shanghi was not going to be the right choice for our agency when I totally could not find the suspect I wanted to accuse on my list. :)
The problem? Well, was also IM chatting with another agent in our agency who's standard response to a question is "yup." .... Yup you got it, I was searching the Yue's and Yans for a Yup! (hey seemed like a perfectly normal name here with the others).

Right there, SS, is exactly why I got my last FA. Two bloody Huan Yues, and I accused the wrong one. Blah.

Regarding real life names and the the horrible things parents do with their children's names... when working in medical records at a large hospital doing birth certificates I actually had parents who named their twins Boot and Bunker. Any guesses on the last name? Yup, Hill it is. :( How awful is that?

It's when I get names like Yan Yan and Yin Yan that I start to have problems.

I got a FA with two suspects (samidh and samridh) and they had the same last name.

Oscar Meyer, I had a similar problem in Shanghai. With three people with names like Yue You, You Yue, and Yu Yue or Lei Du and Li Du, I find myself second and third checking names before doing anything.

It also bugs me that I can't tell if they're male or female, sometimes they're both!

regarding real life names, I had a teacher who had two twins called black and blue. They had an older brother named boysen and a younger sister named raz. There last name of course were Berry. Cruel isn't it.
