Hi, I really like this game becasue it gave me an interest in mystery novels. Too bad I haven't read any of them yet. So I was wondering what book should I get that is set in this time period as this game and is not very hard to understand, but still interesting.
If that makes sense, please give me a recommendation!

The works of Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler come closest, if I'm not mistaken. Most of their work is available in libraries. They're best known for creating Sam Spade and Phillip Marlowe, respectively.

Adding to Doyle, Hammett, and Chandler, let us not forget Agatha Christie, the Queen of Crime. She is known for creating Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, two of the most famous detectives in the history of crime -- along with Holmes, Spade, and Marlowe. I recommend "Murder on the Orient Express," "Death on the Nile," "Sleeping Murder," "The Body In the Library," "Cards on the Table," "A Murder Is Announced," and "Evil Under the Sun." They are a few selections of my favorite novels by her. Other than that, go with what John Hale and Jojo are recommending. BUT be sure to try some of these Christie classics!
