This has probably been discussed before, but I couldn't find a thread on it ...
As a serial reader and bibliophile, I am always seeking new recommendations on reading material (not particularly detective novels).
I have just finished Postmortem and Body of Evidence by P.Cornwell (first time I've read her) and am currently reading 'The Shadow of the Wind' by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. What should it be next?

Quite disturbing is Mo Hayder, she's british so I don't know if she's avaiable in the states. My favourite for scene of crime evidience working miracles is Jeffery Deaver (of Bone Collector fame, if anyone's seen the movie) That's about it for crime for me, I'm more a fantasy girl myself. That I could go on about for hours!!

Has anyone here read Perfume by Suskind? I think, judging from what's been written, it would appeal to a lot on the board. It's particularly good because it describes locations, characters and the like primarily in smell. Quite disturbing, though. I lent it to a friend and it gave him nightmares! : o )

I have read it YEARS ago. I thought it was really good. The fact that I can still remember what the book even was about.....is definitely a sign.
